“Why Joy Matters and How To Experience It”

I have experienced for myself that here can be no “true Success” in life without joy. For many years of my life I was “success-driven,” but that drive came from an “outside-in” focus. Joy flows in the opposite direction. It flows from the “inside-out.”

“True success” begins on the inside. True Success and joy are spiritual in nature. They flow naturally as we align with our Divine Purpose!

The ultimate purpose for which we were created is to have joy! If you are not experiencing joy, choose to rediscover your true self and reconnect to your Divine Purpose.

We all have something inside us that tells when we are not aligned with our purpose. We can gauge our connection to purpose by the amount of joy we experience. The things that bring you the most joy are the things that are most aligned with your purpose. They are what you were created to do and be.

Spend more time doing things that inspire you; things that make your heart sing. The more time you spend on inspiring activities, the higher your frequency will be, and the quicker you will align with your Divine Purpose.

1. Take time every day to experience beauty. Walk in nature, look at sunsets, gaze at stars of whatever makes you experience a sense of beauty.

2. Take time every day to do something you are passionate about. Building a career around your passions is the best way to find “true success”

3. Take time every day to love and appreciate people. Spend time just loving the most important people in your life. Accept people as they are and appreciate their God-given uniqueness.

4. Always follow your heart and pursue the things that resonate in your soul.

If you are not following what resonates for you, you probably are not experiencing joy. We all have things that bring us joy. For me, it is looking at stars, sunrises and sunsets; it is beautiful summer nights, and stunning mountain views. I feel joy when I’m reading and writing inspiring thoughts and insights.

Joy connects you to the “goodness of God”- the energy field that flows from your Source.

The prescription, for connecting with Divine Purpose, is a high dose of joy. Take time every day to experience the things that bring you joy. You feel joy in those things for a reason. Those are the God-given signals that were intended to show you your true self. You were intended to feel joy in things that are part of your Divine Purpose.

How to Unleash the Power of True Success!

Isn’t it amazing how different the world looks from the window of an airplane at 23,000 feet? It is a completely different perspective. A much higher perspective. Often you can see towns and the roads that connects them. You can have a perspective of different places at the same time.

When I was just out college and beginning a new sales career,  I had a very limited perspective, based totally on the limiting beliefs of my limited experience. My first week in the field I experienced all kinds of rejection and frustrations that triggered a lot of anxiety and took me way out of my “comfort zone.” I wanted to quit because I had no vision of what was possible. All I had was the limited vision of what was happening currently. All I could believe was based on the limitations of my past experience.

A few months later I attended to my first National Sales Meeting and began to catch a glimpse of what was possible, but even then, I still couldn’t see where I would be in one year, or five years, or even twenty years. I had no idea that I would go on to be “Salesperson of the year” numerous times. I had no idea that  I would win incentive trips all over the world.

Often the only vision we have is from the perspective of lying on our backs looking up at our giant pile of problems. When we look at our current situation from this perspective we have no vision of Our Higher Purpose.

This means we need to get to higher ground. We need to see the view from a higher perspective. We need to see the landscape from 23,000 feet.

Here are some steps that will help:

1. On the left-hand side of a piece of paper draw a big circle and inside of it write the words: “Where I am now.” In the circle list the conditions you are experiencing currently.

2. On the right-hand side of a piece of paper do the same thing, but this time write: “where I want to be – My higher Purpose.” In the circle list the conditions you want to see in your life.

3. Now, draw an arrow connecting the two circles. Along the arrow start to list some of the milestones that will happen as you progress toward your Higher Purpose. Now you are looking at the bigger picture. You have a higher perspective that allows you to see both places at the same time.

4. finally, ask yourself empowering questions like: “How can I ___________?” (fill in where you want to be) and ‘What if  I could___________?” (fill in things that would make it possible) This opens your mind to possibility thinking, and once you’re seeing possibilities, inspiration begins to flow. Now you have an inspired vision that aligns with your dreams and passions. Now your are aligned with a Higher Purpose instead of a limited view of all your barriers.

How to reprogram your brain for true success!

Do you seem to be stuck at a certain level of success you can’t seem to get past? What if everything you believe about success is wrong? Subconscious programming actually has more to do with your level of success than hard work, education, intelligence or even positive thinking.

If you have tried affirmations to attract more success and have not had the results you hoped for it is because of subconscious resistance.

Resistance occurs when your subconscious beliefs are not in agreement with the statement being affirmed.

In order to understand how our brains get programmed for success or failure it is important to understand that we have four levels of consciousness we can experience: Beta, Alpha, Delta, and Theta.

Beta – This is the “awake” state that most adults experience while conscious. Beta readings can vary between (14 Hz to over 100 Hz). The lower the Hz number the more peace and calm we experience, while the higher the Hz number the more we experience panic, fear, and anxiety.

Alpha – The Alpha state ranges from (8 Hz and 13.9 Hz) and is known as a relaxation state, much like you would experience during meditation, going to sleep, and waking up out of sleep. This is when you are most in-tune with intuition, source, and spirit.

Theta – In Theta, the measurements range between (4 Hz and 7.9 Hz). This is the equivalent of a dreaming sleep state, or a deep meditative state. For infants, toddlers, and very young children, this is also known as “sponge mode.” In this brainwave state their brains are encoding all the messages they receive from parents, teachers and care-givers. As they do this they are rapidly forming beliefs about dangers, self-image, self-esteem, as well as, money and success.

Delta – And finally Delta which is below 4 Hz, which is synonymous with a dreamless sleep state or coma type state. This is the brainwave state of babies in the womb. In this state they are already forming beliefs.

Children are able to learn things so quickly because their brains are in a Theta wave dominant state. This is why it’s so much easier to learn a language at a very young age.

Once you reach the age of 6 or 7  your brain switches to a Beta wave state, which is more of a conscious and awake state.

In Beta state your brain develops a filter between the conscious and subconscious minds. This filter prohibits new information from entering the subconscious mind.

When you are in a relaxed and serene state you enter more of an Alpha wave state. In the Alpha state it is easier for new thoughts and beliefs to pass through the filter. New beliefs can be formed if this is done with consistent repetition.

With deep meditation you can access a Theta wave state. In Theta the filter between our conscious and subconscious minds is removed, making it possible for new information, like affirmations to pass into the subconscious mind and create new empowering beliefs that can reprogram your mind for success.

As adults there are two ways we can get past the filter and create new beliefs to reprogram our minds for success.

1. We can sneak information past the conscious mind filter by combining meditation, deep relaxation and affirmations at a Beta State. or

2. We can remove the filter entirely by combining meditation, and affirmations at an even deeper Theta State.

How to be successful! Effortless flow

There are three components to the effortless flow of True Success (Divine Purpose):

  1.  Discovering who you really are – the spiritual offspring of God, your Divine Source.
  2.  Expressing your unique talents.
  3. Giving service to your fellow man.

When you combine the ability to express your unique talent with service to your fellow man, then you will experience the effortless flow of Divine Purpose and there is no way you will not have access to unlimited abundance, because that is the only way abundance flows.

The more we share our Divine Purpose with others, the more value we create in their lives. The more value we give the more we receive in return. The wider we cast our seed, the greater the harvest!  As you take the seed of your Divine Purpose and cast it as wide and as far as possible, you will be adding value to the lives of many people.

Have you ever wondered why some people seem to get incredible results with seemingly little effort, while others achieve so little while putting forth so much effort? Why do some people seem to have the magic touch? You’ve heard people say. “Everything he touches turns to gold.” And have you ever noticed that a person who becomes successful tends to continue to become more successful – and, on the other hand, have you noticed how someone who’s a struggling tends to continue to struggle?

“We need a more spiritual approach to success and to affluence, which is the abundant flow of all good things to you.” (Deepak Chopra, The Seven Spiritual laws of Success, 2)

If you observe nature at work, you will see that least effort is expended. Grass doesn’t try to grow, it just grows. Fish don’t try to swim, they just swim. Flowers don’t try to bloom, they bloom. Birds don’t try to fly, they just fly. This is their intrinsic nature. The earth doesn’t try to spin on its axis; it is the nature of the earth to spin with dizzying speed and hurtle through space. It is the nature of babies to be in bliss. It is the nature of the sun to shine. It is the nature of stars to glitter and sparkle. And it is human nature to make our dreams manifest into physical form, easily and effortlessly. (Deepak Chopra, The Seven Spiritual laws of Success, 54)

Your Divine Purpose, is not something you try to do, it is who you are! That is why it flows effortlessly! That is why it is TRUE Success!

How to Be Successful! Part One

“What if everything you believe about success is wrong?!” I ask that question because myths have become so common in our society that Universal principles are now referred to as “secrets.”

Let’s look at some of the common myths that leave out universal principles.

Myth #1 – The self-made man or woman

In reality, there is no such thing as a self-made man or woman! True success is not possible without the power of Universal laws. It’s popular to refer to “the Secret” when discussing Universal Laws,” but, in reality, they are not secrets they are “Principles of Divine Purpose.”

Universal principles have been taught by spiritual leaders since the beginning to time. For example, the Universal truth that “thought is vibration” is taught in the Bible when Jesus said, “as a man thinketh in his heart so is he.” And He taught that “Our focus can harness the energy that creates worlds” when he said, “all things are possible to him that believeth.”

Modern-day personal development authors have done the same. In 1957, Earl Nightingale recorded his famous classic – “The Strangest Secret,” in which he taught the Universal truth that: “You become what you think about.” Napoleon Hill taught the concept of, “think and Grow Rich.” Now thirty-five years later, Paulo Coelho described the same idea in his novel The Alchemist: “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you achieve it.” Just like the law of gravity, Universal Laws are always at work. It’s been our keeping them “a secret” that keeps us from TRUE Success.

Since resonance is a principle of Divine Purpose, let’s define it more clearly. Your Divine Purpose has already been created. It’s waiting for you, offering a signal, and all you have to do is “hone-in” on the signal.

Although we are completely unaware of it, radio waves are constantly moving all around us. However, if we turn on a radio, we can pick up a radio signal just by “tuning in” to the frequency of that particular signal. By changing the radio channel, we can tune in to a different frequency and pick up a completely different signal. That is resonance!

Here is another example: If you take two tuning forks of the same pitch, or frequency, and place them near each other, and strike one of them, the sound waves travel through the air and cause the other one to vibrate as well. We could say that they resonate with each other. However, if we use tuning forks of different frequencies the resonance does not occur. If the frequency of one matches the frequency of the other, it picks up its vibrations. That is resonance! Resonance is when energy frequencies are aligned, in tune or vibrating in harmony.

TRUE Success is a product of spiritual resonance. Spiritual resonance involves the same universal principle as physical resonance, but with energies of much higher frequencies.

To experience resonance with your Divine Purpose you must be in a state of high-frequency thoughts and emotions. That is what Jack Canfield helped me experience with the meditation exercise he took us through.

So what is it that keeps people from experiencing resonance? It’s called dissonance. Dissonance is the opposite of resonance. Because your Divine Purpose is spiritual you must be in a high-frequency state to connect with it.  Low-frequency thoughts and emotions are dissonant from things of the spirit.

I once saw a science experiment where a scientist passed a million volts of electricity through his body without experiencing physical harm. Normally a million volts of electricity would kill a person instantly, but he was able to do it by changing the frequency of the electricity so that it was dissonant from the energy of his body. By doing so the electricity just passed through without any resonance. That’s what happens when vibrational frequencies are dissonant.

Unfortunately, many people live in a state of dissonance. They never experience TRUE Success because their efforts and energies are not in harmony with their divine purpose. Their Divine Purpose passes them by without resonating, because the signal they’re transmitting is not high enough.

Universal Law dictates that if the life you’re experiencing is not joyful, fulfilling and purposeful, it’s because the frequency of your beliefs, thoughts and emotions are not resonating with Divine Purpose.

Myth #2 – Success is “doing” what failures aren’t willing to “do”

Success-myths are low-frequency beliefs that interfere with our connection to Divine Purpose. Any idea or philosophy that isn’t aligned with Universal Laws is a myth.

A success-myth that affected me for many years, is found in the popular booklet titled, “The Common Denominator of Success,” which contains this famous quote: “the secret of success lies in the fact that successful people form the habit of doing things failures don’t like to do.”  (Albert E.N. Gray, Common Denominator of Success). The interesting thing about myths is that they are often half-truths. They contain elements of truth, while leaving out the Universal Principles.

The quote leads you to assume that if you’ll just do the things that unsuccessful people aren’t willing to do, you will be successful. Taking massive action that does not resonate with Divine Purpose is not TRUE Success.

If TRUE Success is joy, why is it that so many people who have focused their lives on doing what failures won’t do, are miserable?  Misery is not success, it is dissonance!

Why doesn’t the “do” always lead to the desired “have?” It’s because the “do,” on its own, will not do much, unless it’s preceded by “be.”  Because withoutbeingaligned with Divine Purpose, we aren’t “being” who we were intended to “be.”

We must first have an inspired vision of who we “are”and then take inspired actions.

How to Visualize True Success! Imagination

Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming events.” – Albert Einstein

Often we think of imagination as something that kids do. Unfortunately, as we grow up our imaginations get snuffed out quickly as our parents and teachers tell us to quit daydreaming. What we are really doing when we’re imagining, is exercising one of the most powerful mental faculties we’ve been given. Here’s an example of what I mean:

Not long ago I saw a news story about an autistic boy who was the coach’s helper for his high school’s basketball team. He mostly did little things like bringing water and handing out towels. As he was attending to his duties, he would imagine himself playing for the team. He was always rehearsing in his mind the incredible things he would do in game situations.

His passion and devotion to the team earned him so much respect from the coach that in the final game of the season the coach allowed him to suit up for the game. Then with four minutes left in the game, the coach unexpectedly substituted him in.

His first shot was a twenty-footer from the right baseline that missed everything. His second was about the same, but on his third shot he drained a three-pointer, and something just clicked. The images he had rehearsed to over and he began to hit shot after shot. He made six straight shots, mostly three pointers, for a total of twenty points. With each succeeding shot the crowd grew wilder and wilder. When he hit his final three-pointer as time was running out, the scene became utter mayhem. Because of his autism, he was used to feeling different, but this was very different from his real life experience, this was something he had only experienced in his imagination!

The success-myth of “Just Do it” could have never brought this type of result. His success was the result of the images he had played over every day in his mind – like a movie. The success myth of “just Do it” would have made this situation a fluke and this was no fluke! The script of this movie had been written and rehearsed many times before it actually played out. This is the amazing creative power God has place within each of us!  (Olsen, Zero to Hero, 23)

“Creative Imagination” is the process by which the finite mind has direct communication with infinite intelligence. It is the faculty through which “hunches” and “inspirations” are received. It is by this faculty that basic or new ideas are handed over to man.

It is through this faculty that thought vibrations from the minds of others are received.” (Hill, think and Grow Rich, ch5)

“True Success” begins as an image in the mind. Human beings have been endowed with powerful God-given creative faculties, and the act of creation begins as we create a vision or an image in our mind. Imagination is the mental faculty out of which visions arise.

“All things are created twice. There’s a mental or first creation, and a physical or second creation to all things” ~ Stephen Covey
